Construction activity is increased in Hungary

The activity of the construction sector in the euro area in November, up eight tenths

The activity of the construction sector in the euro area during the month of November registered an increase of 0.8% over the previous month, when it was down 1.4%, while in annual terms increased by two-tenths, according to data published by the European statistical office, Eurostat.
In the whole European Union (EU), construction activity rose four tenths from the previous month, when it had fallen by 0.9%, while compared to November 2010 rose by seven tenths.
 Among the countries for which data were available, the activity in the construction sector rose in eleven economies and declined only in Spain and Slovakia (-0.7% in both countries) and Bulgaria (-0.3%). The most significant increases were observed in Slovenia (+23.1%), Hungary (+7.4%) and Germany (+4.5%).
In annual terms, the most significant increases in construction activity were recorded in Romania (+16.9%), Poland (+14.7%) and Germany (+9.9%), while the largest decreases were observed in Portugal (-12.2%), Bulgaria (-10.2%) and Slovenia (-10%).
