Again, the Palace of Arts revives a tradition that has grown since 2005 of celebrating the Hungarian national day with joyous music in the shape of jazz in all its entertaining forms. At various places in the foyer, on the small stage by the Ludwig Museum and on the grand stage erected in front of the Palace, our visitors will be treated to swing, ragtime, Dixieland and traditional big band music.
The artistic director of the programme, trombonist and composer Béla Szalóky again encourages brave amateur musicians to bring along their instruments and join in the music making which climaxes with a dance inspiring set by the Police Big Band just before the traditional fireworks.
