Reñé highlights the links of Catalonia and Hungary in the XXV meeting in Budapest Adiflok

    The president of the council of Lleida, Joan Reñé, stressed on Saturday the links between Catalonia and Hungary in Budapest XXV Aplec International Association for the Dissemination of Folklore.
    In his speech, recalled Reñé ties Catalano-Aragonese Crown and the Austro-Hungarian, with the marriage of Constance of Aragon and Emeric II of Hungary, and Violante of Hungary and Jaume I of Catalunya-Arago.
    In addition, he recalled the interest in Catalan culture in Hungary, and referred to the creation of a subject in Catalan at the University of Budapest in the 70's.
    In the sports side, stressed the FC Barcelona player Ladislao Kubala as "one of the most important figures in the history" of the team, as explained by the County Council in a statement.
    In this edition, the region of Lleida has been represented by various entities, such as the Agrupació capgrossos de Colles  Geganteres de Catalunya and the Colla Sardanista Sol Ixent.
